Students have been working hard on prepositions/prepositional phrases and today, to review for our quiz, students are playing prepositional "Uno"....like regular Uno but better 😄 (before they can play a card they have to identify the prepositional phrase in the sentence).
Fire Prevention Week is October 6-12. Students at Humboldt Elementary welcomed volunteers from the Humboldt Fire Department to school yesterday. They educated us on fire safety strategies and reminded us to check our fire alarms at home. Thank you, Humboldt Fire Department!

State A Boys Golf is off and rolling. Good luck to Anthony, Kamden, and Aiden
Siblings Ava, Aiden, and Adley grew and sold pumpkins to help the District's Project 22 fund. The Project 22 fund helps fund school lunches for students. We are extremely appreciative of their thoughtfulness! Thank you.
This afternoon, three Hartford Elementary 2nd graders had lunch with Dr. Knight. As part of a PBIS reward the three chose lunch with Dr. Knight. We had a great time, keep making great choices!

Congratulations to Humboldt Elementary's September Students of Character. These students received the most Trojan Tributes during the month of September. Pictured (L to R): Sloane Smith (1st), Breyer Kayser (4th), Harper Lesner (5th).
We have three Trojans headed to State Golf next week, Anthony Lanham, Kamden Zomer, and Aiden Lanham. Our 4th and 5th golfers barely missed the qualifying cut off. The team missed getting into State as a team by 1 stroke. It was a windy day, but any day on the course is a good day. Congratulations gentlemen! Go Trojans!
MS Volleyball will start at 4:30 today instead 4:00
Congratulations to the Marching Trojans on their successful weekend. On Friday, the band took 1st Place in the Parade at Beresford, capturing Outstanding Winds and Outstanding Drumline! They took 1st Place in the Parade at the Tri-State Band Festival in Luverne on Saturday morning. They also captured the People's Choice Award for the most entertaining show and won the Sweepstakes Award for the highest score out of any band. That afternoon, they also claimed 1st Place on Field while capturing Outstanding Winds and Outstanding Drumline.
That evening, they took 3rd Place at the Big Sioux Review in Brandon while capturing Outstanding Drum Majors!
An exciting way we celebrate positive behavior at Humboldt Elementary is with a Trojan Tribute award. These awards are given to students for following the 3 B's (be responsible, be respectful, be safe). Every Friday, award winners are randomly chosen and given a small prize as recognition for a job well done! Once a month, we throw sticky darts at the Trojan Tributes that have been accumulated throughout the month and 10 lucky winners are picked for a monthly prize also! Today was a fun Friday morning celebrating positive behavior at Humboldt Elementary!
MCSO are serious fans! Football tonight vs. Canton.
Good Morning: Today, I was privileged to ride one of our bus routes. On this route, two vehicles ran through the bus's red flashing lights. This is very dangerous for our kids. Please pass on the message that red flashing lights mean stop! Thank you
FCCLA attended Teens as Teachers at the USD campus in Sioux Falls. The FCCLA members learned about how to create a lesson plan about the different pillars of character development. They will take what they learned and work with the elementary students about how character development can make a large impact in your own personal growth.
The District is hosting a public Open House at the newly remodeled Hartford Elementary. The open house will be held next Wednesday, October 2nd at 5:30. Please see the flyer for additional details.
